About me

I stand as the founder and CEO of HES Group. We develop, acquire, and manage several hotel projects in the hospitality industry in the United States and Latin America. Some of them include the Aloft Miami Brickell Hotel, the Aloft Coral Gables Hotel, and the Hotel Indigo Brickell in South Florida, as well as the Embassy Suites Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.

Furthermore, I am currently working on the development of a new lifestyle hotel in the Miami Design District under a highly recognized hotel brand. As well as, the launch of a private investment fund to grow in the hospitality industry focusing on the hotels and food & beverage sector; without ruling out the possibility of expanding to other industries and geographical areas.

I am passionate about entrepreneurship and the process of an idea coming to life. Tripping Animals Brewery, a craft beer brewery in Doral, FL, PokeKai, a fast-casual Hawaiian-Mexican inspired restaurant in Coral Gables, FL, and Janoko, a Latin-inspired Spanish restaurant in Madrid, Spain are some of the projects that I am proud to have mentored.

I am also a strong supporter of continuous education and academic endeavors.  I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Universidad Catolica Andres Bello, a Diplôme d’Études Superiéures Spécialisées (DESS) from the Université Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne, a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University and an MBA from Columbia University and London Business School.

Within my other interests are sports, especially baseball. I believe in helping people in the sports industry, that’s why I act as a board member of ‘The Perfect Game Foundation’, an organization devoted to minorities interested in pursuing careers in the sports industry. I also serve as a board member of Tiburones de La Guaira Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting education and health.

Some of my other passions include travel, gastronomy, art, architecture and design.
